Public spaces with child-friendly facilities are increasingly difficult to find in large, densely populated cities in Indonesia. This condition causes the use of gadgets to be increasingly in demand, the emergence of anti-social behavior, and mental health issues in children. The selected project location is in the center of Bekasi City. The location is close to housing, offices, two schools, a sports stadium, shopping centers, and a hospital. However, child-friendly public spaces were not found. Added to this is the chaos of street food vendors who park their carts around the school. The concept of "Blooming Playscape" is realized by incorporating various children's games, namely traditional games in Indonesia in the form of galah asin and engkle, as well as a wooden playground. The space division in this design has a floral pattern which is divided into two play areas, two culinary areas, an art area, and a central area as a performance area. The circles for the distribution of games are inspired by the Rafflesia arnoldii pattern. Then, benches and pergolas take patterns from the moon orchids. Both types of flowers are the national flowers of Indonesia. Just like people who enjoy the season when flowers bloom and come to capture it, the goal of “Blooming Playscape” is for children to be able to play in the open air in their free time or after school. This intervention will reactivate social interaction and increase creativity.
